- The bank was chartered in 1920 as the Shovel Lake State Bank
- Subsequent names for the bank were First State Bank of Swatara, The Security State Bank of Remer, and Woodland Bank.
- Remer became the bank's headquarters in 1933.
- The bank recorded its first $1 million in assets on July 21, 1952.
- The Woodland Bank name was adopted in 1992. The bank held a contest to rename the bank, and it was won by Terri Williams.
