Do you have internet banking? Are you not exactly sure how to use it? Or are you thinking of signing up? Don’t let these obstacles stop you from having your account accessibility easily at your fingertips.

Internet banking is one of the easiest ways to do your banking. It’s simple, safe and secure and can be accessed 24-hours-a-day as long as you have access to the internet. And did we mention, it’s FREE!

“I feel internet banking is one of the best tools banks can offer for anyone that has a computer or mobile device,” said Austin Rohling, Customer Service Representative. “In the fast-paced world we live in, the ability to spend money and the easy access we have to funds, makes it even more important to track our spending on our accounts.”

Rohling explained that his generation and even younger seem not to track their money as well as they should, whether it is spending or saving. But with the convenience of internet banking, a person has the ability to track it daily or even several times a day.

“I use my internet banking daily to track funds and make sure nothing wasn’t authorized or fraudulent,” Rohling said. “The convenience of having it at your fingertips is so beneficial.”

However, the accessibility sometimes raises some security concerns to internet banking and potential internet banking users.

“There’s a great fear of being online. However, we as a bank put so much time, effort and care into the well-being of our customers, and wouldn’t offer a product that we felt was a threat to our customers,” said Rohling.

He continued, “The way banks set up internet banking is so secure and it is set up by a team of network specialists. The benefits by far out way the negatives.”

Internet banking makes it easy to help establish a budget, save money and track spending habits, if a person isn’t tracking his or her finances any other way. Transferring money from a checking to a savings can easily be done and vice versa. However, it is important to note, only six online transfers and automatic payments can be made out of a savings account per month, yet internet banking transfers are unlimited per month from a checking account to a savings account.

So how does someone register for internet banking? To sign up: Go to www.woodlandbank.com > Hover over the resource tab >Hover over e-banking > Click on Internet Banking > Click on Sign Up Today > Click I Agree after reading the personal enrollment form agreement > then start filling out the fields.

“Once you have gone through all the steps and entered your email address, you will receive an email within one to three business days from Woodland Bank with a temporary one-time user name and password,” Rohling said. “once you log in the site will automatically direct you to create a personalized username and password to something you will remember.”

If you have any troubles with internet banking or think you are locked out of your account, please contact any one of our customer service representatives in any branch and he or she can assist you.  It’s important to know your internet banking password expires every six months, and upon logging in, it will prompt you to change it. However, changing your password or even setting up internet banking can only be done on a desktop computer and not a hand-held mobile device.

In addition to internet banking, Woodland Bank offers a mobile baking app which can make managing your accounts that much easier! And don’t forget to check out our online education link that will walk you through any questions you may have!
